GF Chef: Oat Crisps

Oats are often on the list of forbidden foods for those following a strict GF diet. However, certified gluten-free oats can be found in China in some import supermarkets or via online stores (view our shopping guides). These little oat crisps are tasty served with ice-cream of alongside a colorful fruit salad.

OAT CRISPS (around 20 pcs)


  • 50 g / 8 tbsp salted butter
  • ½ dL / 6 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 4 tbsp GF flour
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 4 dL / 1 ½ cup GF oat flakes




Preheat the oven to 180 °C or 350 °F. Mix all the ingredients. Spoon up 20 pieces of dough to baking sheet covered with baking paper. Flatten it out as thin as possible. Bake around 15 minutes until a bit brown around the edges. Let cool to become crispier and store in airtight container. Serve with ice cream and berries, or have as a teatime snack.
